The National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect established by the 1974 Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act by the federal government. It maintains a resource database which is accessible through Telenet, Tymnet, Dialnet, or direct dial. Dialog Information Services is its vendor, and there is a per-hour and per-record access fee.

The Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information maintains and makes available databases containing relevant information. Also provides books, films, programs, and other resource materials.
