The rhythm's diabolic
Thunder fills the air
Hot lightning streaks the
skyline
We run loose - on a dare
Parents concern - as children
turn - to run and hide
In the end we learn - fire
doesn't always burn - it's not always safer inside
We slither toward our quarry
We pray to make amends
We love and hate, then worry
How can we hurt our friends
?
We only go this way once
Yet, our children live in
fear
Teach them nothing is so
frightening
As the feeling no one's near...
Parents concern - as children
turn - to run and hide
In the end we learn - fire
doesn't always burn - it's not always safer inside
And we can try to instruct
them - over their shoulders
Just allow them space as
they grow older
Their heads are filled with
such bright dreams
Give them freedom while in
their teens
You're under mental torture
Tears fill up your eyes
So these vultures all around
you
See through macho disguise
It's their sole goal to conquer
Capture all you have
And all the while they'll
tell you
Convince you they're not
bad
Parents concern - as children
turn - to run and hide
In the end we learn - fire
doesn't always burn - it's not always safer inside
So diabolic
